Next Generection Selection Committee Meeting Held

Brooklyn, New York— The Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa Fellowship Program Selection and Advisory Committee met on March 9-10 in the Brooklyn offices of the Social Science Research Council to convene the final meeting of their application process. The Selection and Advisory Committee chose 40 fellows for the 2017-2018 Fellowship Cohort year. They also discussed the successes of the program through the first five years and discussed potential new initiatives for the program to work on in coming years. Members of the Advisory Board include Jimi Adesina from the University of South Africa, Akosua Adomako from the University of Ghana, Steve Akoth from Pamoja Trust, Alcinda Honwana from Open University, Sarah Ssali from Makerere University, and Charles Ukeje from Obafemi Awolowo University.
