Dear friends,

Dr. Gugulethu Siziba, a beloved member of the first cohort, died yesterday morning. I don't yet have many details at present, other than knowing he was sick in the weeks leading up to his death, though I'm told no one anticipated this tragic outcome.

Those of us who knew Gugu will recall his mind that illuminated everything on which it alighted and a smile as bright as his intellect. 

We mourn together, again, and strengthen our sense of a shared community especially amidst tragedy. It is heart breaking to send out another of these announcements, even as I know we all were enriched by his life and thinking.
