Director of Next Gen Program to Moderate Inaugural State of Education in Africa conference at the Ford Foundation

Staff_2013_Asher_Thomas_WebNew York, New York Thomas Asher, Director of the Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa Program, is scheduled to moderate a panel discussion at the inaugural annual State of Education in Africa conference at the Africa-American Institute on September 9, 2014 at the Ford Foundation on 320 East 43rd Street, New York.

Thomas Asher will moderate a panel discussion entitled "Creating a 21st Century Educational Experience in Africa: Looking beyond enrollment numbers to coursework and methodologies to find solutions for today's educators," which will feature Dr. N'Dri Assie Lumumba of Cornell University, Dr. Teboho Moja of NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, and Dr. Meritxall Roca of Princeton University.

The Africa-America Institute works to strengthen Africa's youth capacity by providing opportunities through education, skill training, and dialogue so that they may become chief economic drivers in their communities.
